About

One Alabama

A statewide nonprofit building a more inclusive and representative democracy across Alabama.

One Alabama is a statewide nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to building a more inclusive and representative democracy across Alabama.

Through year-round voter engagement, leadership development, issue advocacy, and community organizing, One Alabama works to expand civic participation and ensure that all Alabamians — particularly those from historically underrepresented communities — have a voice in the decisions that affect their lives.

The organization focuses on strengthening grassroots power and advancing policies that promote equity, opportunity, and civic engagement throughout the state.

How We Work

Four ways we build civic power.

01

Year-Round Voter Engagement

We show up between elections, not just before them — with clear, useful civic information people can act on.

02

Leadership Development

We invest in Alabamians — fellows, organizers, and neighborhood leaders — who carry this work in their own communities.

03

Issue Advocacy

We advance policies that promote equity, opportunity, and civic engagement throughout the state.

04

Community Organizing

We build grassroots power block by block, church by church, county by county.

Our Projects

Reach the 619 is one of them.

Reach the 619 is One Alabama's statewide, nonpartisan effort to reconnect 619,000 registered Black voters in Alabama with the issues that shape their daily lives.

Support the work

Democracy is built by neighbors.

Your time, your gathering space, or your gift keeps organizers on the ground in all 67 counties.
